Sina Trinkwalder and her label manomama are producing ecological fashion in the middle of Augsburg, Germany - and not in Asia.
Heute möchte ich meine neueste "grüne Entdeckung" mit Euch teilen.
Sina Trinkwalder produziert mit Ihrem Label manomama ökologische Mode und das mitten in Augsburg statt in Asien.
In my opinion this project is absolutely worth supporting! That´s why just recently I visited the factory outlet myself. You can walk directly through the production hall and have a look over the shoulders of the sewers. A wonderful experience! Whenever you are in the are of Augsburg, you should visit!

The people
Young & old, with a handicap, with immigrant background, being a single parent, without high school diploma - all of them have two things in common: at job centers they are listed as "people with multiple obstacles in placement." At manomama they are however, valuable and hardworking family members. People who are working at manomama. Only in jobs with indefinite periode, with salaries of a mimimum of 10 Euros and with working hours that match with familiy life.
Ecological? Certainly!
At manomama clients get a "clean" piece of fashion. A production that is understandable, value added in the region and under strict ecological standards - that´s the goal!Radical regional
A common pair of jeans is circeling twice the earth before it is finished in all it´s pieces and is reaching the client. Not so at manomama. All materials, if available, are coming from the region. E.g. hemp, leather, virgin wool and viscose. Only ecological cotton is not growing here. That is why it is ordered from the next possible area which is Turkey and Tansania. However, always "made in Germany".Die Menschen
Jung & alt, gehandicapt, mit Migrationshintergrund,
Alleinerziehende, ohne Schulabschluss – sie alle haben zwei Dinge
gemeinsam: In den Jobcentern werden sie geführt als „Menschen mit
multiplen Vermittlungshemmnissen“, bei manomama sind sie wertvolle und
fleissige Familienmitglieder. Menschen, die bei manomama arbeiten.
Ausschließlich in unbefristeten Arbeitsverhältnissen, Stundenlöhne von
mindestens 10 Euro, und nach Arbeitszeiten, die mit der Familie
vereinbar sind.
Öko? Logisch!
Bei manomama bekommen Kunden ein "sauberes" Stück Kleidung. Eine nachvollziehbare, in der Region wertgeschöpfte Produktion unter den strengsten ökologischen Maßgaben ist das erklärte Ziel.Radikal regional
Eine herkömmliche Jeans umkreist zweimal den Globus, bis sie in allen Bestandteilen fertig ist und beim Kunden landet. Nicht so bei manomama. Hier kommen alle Rohstoffe, sofern verfügbar, aus der Region. Darunter zählen Hanf, Leder, Schurwolle und Viskose. Einzig die Biobaumwolle wächst nicht in unseren Breitengraden. Deshalb wird diese vom nächstgelegenen Punkt bezogen: der Türkei und Tansania. Dann aber immer „Hergestellt in Deutschland“.In my opinion this project is absolutely worth supporting! Absolut unterstützenswert finde ich und hab mich kürzlich direkt zum Fabrikverkauf aufgemacht.
Ihr könnt hier direkt durch die Produktionshalle marschieren und den Näherinnen & Nähern bei der Arbeit über die Schulter schauen. Ein tolles Erlebnis! Probiert es aus wenn Ihr mal in der Augsburger Gegend seid.
